I was on Wikipedia the other day looking up my favorite comic strip , Calvin and Hobbes. They were talking alot about how the strip’s fantasy world resembled a strip that was prevalent in the very early 1900’s called “Litte Nemo”.
The strip is about a boy in Slumberland every night, with the last panel of each strip showing his mom or something waking him up. The artwork on the comic was intense, especially for newspapers. It also depicted violence and dark, surreal, and threatining imagery… something not in most newspaper comics.
In the early strips, Nemo experienced mishaps or disasters that seemed about to lead to serious injury or death, such as being crushed by giant mushrooms. being turned into a monkey, falling from a bridge being held up by slaves,or gaining 90 years in age. The adventures leading to these disasters all had a common purpose: to get to Slumberland, where he had been summoned by King Morpheus to be the “playmate” of his daughter, the Princess.

I remember playing the Nintendo game Little Nemo! I dont think I ever finshed it.
yea that game was really hard
