How to make infinity friends on myspace PART TWO

Unless you’re the type to black out drunk and forget large chunks of your memory, you may recall me talking about how to get bum bum loads of friends on myspace the other day.

It brought up the argument that all the OTHER people on sites like this are ALSO trying to accumulate hoardes of friends and will probably never check out your page. However, it was decided that although this may be true, it would still be beinficial because you could send out bullitens to alert others of your goings on.

But, now I finally have a resolution to this matter. I didn’t realize this until last night, but if you have over 1,500 friends on myspace, they no longer show you bullitens. Something having to do w/ it taking up to much memory on their servers. Therefore, all those people you’re adding probably have more than 1,500 friends and are missing the bullitens anyways.

It seems that going to these sites and adding people is completely worthless, other than showing off that you have 60,000 friends. Diz-amn.

Well, now we know.

Give me money.

How to make infinity friends on myspace

Recently my roommmmmate allerted me about a whole online community of websites that allow you to cheat the system and aquire allot of myspace friends quickly.

Basically you go to one of these sites, punch in your myspace account ID to “log in”…. Then, you can send mass friend requests to a list of everyone else who is using the site at the same time. Each request you send earns you “points” which puts your account higher up the list. Thus, other people using the site will see you on this list and friend request you back.

Also, you can spend alittle cash to become a “VIP”. A VIP is always at the top of the list. In addition to this, other people are enticed to add you because you are worth more points. Sneaky sneaky.

At first I was pretty gosh-darned excited about this. I make a majority of my income off myspace and thought that this was a way to increase that ammout like whoa. Then I started thinking about what I was doing.

The people on this site are just trying to boost their number of friends. They’re going to add you and probably never even look at your account. If no one looks at your account, then no one is going to buy any artwork, or order a T Shirt. Sure, it looks great to potential clients to see you have a giant ammount of friends, but in the long run, all these people would have never even visited your account. They’re like “junk friends”.

My roommate brought up a valid argument however. If you have 30,000 myspace friends and you send out a bulliten, at least 100 of those people will look at it. If you’re using these bullitens to allert them of a new product you have, maybe one or two of them will buy it.

I’m still pretty torn on this matter. I don’t know if I want to devote the time to adding tons and tons of “junk friends” just to boost my numbers.

What do you think about this ?? Comments are appreciated.

Use words like “genitals” in your subject line to get people’s attention.

I am wrapping up a project where I will be distributing at least 500 5 page comics for free. These will be given out at my art shows, stores in downtown Pittsburgh, or anywhere I can drop a couple off.
I am looking for Clothing Companies, Bands, Blogs, or anyone else that needs promotion to help fund this project. What you will get in return is this:

On the last page of the mini comic (page 5), there will be half a page where I will have a “brought to you by” section. This is where your website address, myspace, or whatever would be listed, as well as a logo if you have one.

I am prepared to pay for 500 of these comics to be made out of my pocket. However, any additional money I recieve will be put into making MORE than the 500 comics.

I am asking for $5.25 per add. This money can be sent through paypal only, as I plan on getting these things made this weekend. The extra quarter is to cover paypal’s stupid fees.

For $5.25 your getting your advertisement on my 500 comics, PLUS the extra comics that your $5 is paying for.

If your interested, please send me comment on here or email me at gondek@mattgondek.com. My paypal account is “gondek@mattgondek.com” Please respond by Friday night, as I’ll be getting these printed on Saturday the 23rd.

As of writing this, I still have 4 spaces available.

An Apple a Day

Ever see the commericals for Mac computers with ‘Mac Guy’ and ‘PC Guy?’ I recently saw one where PC guy sings a christmas jingle about buying a PC instead of a Mac. It was awesome! Although these commercials are supposed to make you want to buy a Mac, I actually like PC guy better, he always makes me laugh. Never once have one of these commericals convinced me that I wanted a Mac, I guess Mac Guy just doesn’t do it for me, he’s really not that funny; most of the time he just stands there while PC Guy entertains. PC Guy, on the other hand, is pretty dang funny, I think i will keep my Windows PC computer. Thanks PC Guy!

Jeremyville

Jeremyville’s work is instantly recognizable. He’s the kind of artist whose work is easily marketable too. Writing about him makes me use words that I’m not sure I’m spelling right. Words like recognizable and marketable. Words w/ “able” at the end always confused me.

His work has been used by pretty much everyone at some point, and he also sells his fair share of toys, books, paintings, bags, pins, hats, and other stuff. He is the KISS of the art world.

You can spend a good deal of time at his site www.jeremyville.com looking at all his comics and blogs and stuff. He has alot of good ideas in his brain that you should check out!

Advice for Emerging Artists

Not everyone takes their personal jet to Berlin for lunch like I’m doing today. It’s hard for me to believe, but there are some people out their whose art hasn’t made them multi-millionares.

Therefore, I’ve decided to throw you all a bone and show you a link w/ an awesome interview w/ David Young. In it, he gives ALOT of great tips for emerging artists. Check it out!

P.s. I lied about the jet to Berlin thing.. I’m driving to Wendy’s

Brown Sound Clothing

Brown Sound Clothing has a terrible website. However, they make some really fashionable, comfy clothing. I’ve only ever seen one of their shirts here in Pittsburgh at Urban Outfitters, and never really thought too much about them. However, I went to Maryland over the weekend and seen the hoodie (pictured below) and had to pick it up.

Check out their terrible site for some pics of their other designs, which are all pretty top notch! I wish they site had a store or something. Seriously.. I can’t get over how bad this site is. Ha oh well.

Drawing Cartoons on the Back of Business Cards

This is a link to an amazing collection of blog posts that should be read by anybody creative. It’s alittle long, and will probably eat up an hour of your time, but it honest and extremely informative. This guy really seems to know what he’s talking about and tell it exactly like it is. Some sample quotes are below..

A fancy tool just gives the second-rater one more pillar to hide behind.  The price of being a sheep is BOREDOM, the price of being a wolf is LONLINESS The old ways are dead. And you need people around you who concur. That means hanging out more with the creative people, the freaks, the real visionaries, than you’re already doing. Thinking more about what their needs are, and responding accordingly. It doesn’t matter what industry we’re talking about- architecture, advertising, petrochemicals- they’re around, they’re easy enough to find if you make the effort, if you’ve got something worthwhile to offer in return. Avoid the dullards; avoid the folk who play it safe. They can’t help you any more. Their stability model no longer offers that much stability. They are extinct, they are extinction.

if you have the creative bug, it isn’t ever going to go away. I’d just get used to the idea of dealing with it
