Las Vegas Metro Police have confirmed to TMZ that 52-year-old Kevin Dubrow, lead singer for 80’s metal band Quiet Riot, was found dead in his Las Vegas home. The cause of death right now is still unkown. Quiet Riot became famous for covering someone else’s song. Maybe he died from the shame of it all?
In other news, The Strokes continue to be the best band alive.

Over this holiday weekend, my roommate picked up the best party game I have ever played. It’s called Rock Band, and makes Guitar Hero look like an idiot.
Rock band is a FOUR player game where you and three friends actually start a band, each with a different instrument. If you buy the bundle pack, which my roommate did, you get the game, a microphone, a guitar, and a drum set. If you have an extra guitar laying around from guitar hero, you also can have someone play the bass. So.. to re-iterate:
A singer
A guitar player
A bass player
A drummer
All playing at the same time on the same screen. Can you imagine how amazing this is? The ONLY downfall about this game is that hours will go by and you won’t even realize it. My friends and I played this game from about 10Pm to 3am Saturday night and didn’t even realize it.

My friend has this blog where he writes about new technology and bacon. It’s always interesting to visit because on day you’ll get a review about apple’s new operating system, the next you’ll see a strip of bacon in a coffin. I like it so much that I wrote a rap song about it.
Lemme tell ya’ bout BACON! BACON!
well he’s so cool and he’s so witty
when he gets down to the real nitty gritty
Baconpants got this attitude
he ain’t happy till he eats food
Pigs on the bottom and pigs on the top
baconpants don’t know when to stop
There’s one thing he must confide
“ain’t nothing better than alittle pig hide”
sometimes those strips come in two’s
so when you start munchin’ you can’t lose
there’s one thing I just got to say
i check www.mrbaconpants.com every day
Yea, so… check it out.

Over the weekend, I picked up this amazing book by Alan Weisman. The book goes into extreme detail to describe what would happen to the Earth after humans became extint. However, the unique thing is that it is written in such a way that instead of us dying off from some nuclear blast or anything, it pretends we just vanished one day.
The book helps to remind us that with all our technoligic advancements and paving over everything, underneath it all, we’re still living atop a giant living world. It tells how the Earth would pretty much “swallow us up” after we’re gone. Here’s some exerts from the book:
In two days after we’re gone, New York’s subways systems would impassibly flood due to no one running the pumps.
In one week, the emergency fuel supply to deisel generators that circulate cooling water to nuclear reactor cores would run out.
In one year, animals would begin to return to the sites of nuclear reactors. Human head and body lice would die.
In 3 years with no heat, pipes would burst all over town. Cockroaches would die due to the cold.
There is alot more of these on the site to check out. I recommend picking up this book. It’s a real eye opener on how insignificant we really are in the long run.
